A Match Made in Heaven

Currently sipping on: Kroger brand 100% Colombian roast coffee, with International Delight White Chocolate Mocha creamer, and a touch of Coffeemate French Vanilla Creamer. Mmmmm another match made in heaven :)

I've always considered myself a lipstick girl, rarely one for lip gloss. Of course I went through my phase in early middle school wearing lip gloss everyday to look "cool," but I've never really appreciated the messiness of it. Have you ever put on a new coat of gloss just to find that seconds later a gust of wind blows your hair into your face and it is now disgustingly sticky from touching down on your lips? Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of messy. Messy hair, messy grunge clothes, but messy lips that smudge nasty residue onto my hair? I'll pass. However, I'm going to completely contradict myself and say that I do like a good lip gloss on very rare occasions. If my hair is pulled back out of my face for the night, and I really want that super-polished look then I will reach for a lip gloss.
Now the fun part! I discovered this amazing duo because of countless YouTube guru videos I've seen that have recommended the Rimmel 1000 Kisses lip liner in the shade Tiramisu. Naturally, I decided to go buy it. Here's what it looks like:

This color is an amazing darker pink with a mauve undertone in it. It's so gorgeous, but I still haven't found a lipstick that can  match up too well with it. So when I use it I line my lips gently - if you bare down too hard, it can create a dark thin line creating that gross 90's trend of an overly-lined hollow lip. Why anyone ever thought that was cute is beyond me. Then, once i have smudged the color inwards enough to have a darker tinted pink lip, I add this next product on top. It's MAC Lipglass in the shade Stealing Kisses. I have no clue as to when I received this lip gloss but because it's a sample, I'm guessing I got it among others in one of MAC's little sample sets you can buy around holiday time. In that case, I don't know if you can still find it in stores, but you can always check eBay and whatnot. I couldn't find a picture of the gloss alone, so take a look at it here on the far left:

It's a super think formula lip gloss (go big or go home, right?!) and also a super gorgeous lighter brown color. This gloss alone is definitely a translucent medium brown on lips, but once it is paired with the Tiramisu lip liner it makes for an amazing combination! Both colors complement each other so well to create a dark pinkish/light brown color that looks like it's just many shades darker than an actual nude lip. So gorgeous! Please excuse my terrible phone camera but my real camera is currently MIA. :(
Top right is MAC Lipglass Stealing Kisses; Top left is Rimmel 1000 Kisses Tiramisu lip liner
On Bottom is the two paired together. The picture quality doesn't do the pair complete justice, so try it for yourself!

I'm now down to the last sip of my coffee and lip gloss marks all over my mug, so I guess it's now time to say goodbye and I hope you will try this for yourself! :)

****EDIT****
Just noticed that the lip color i'm wearing in my picture on the right hand sidebar is actually this exact lip combo! Hope the way I wore it helps you out! :)

So let me begin by saying that I know, a blog on coffee and cosmetics isn't the most original. But I think I've got some pretty great thoughts to share with you and I hope after reading a few posts you'd agree. I love reading reviews for myself on just about anything I intend on buying. I guess you could call me an information whore or something but I look deeply into things I'm interested in, make-up being a large one. With all of these blogs and YouTube accounts out there I see no reason to go aimlessly buying products I know nothing about. Unless, that is, I'm feeling incredibly daring. ;) So this begins my own version of product reviews, raves, and probably some random babbles along the way of the good, the bad, and the beautiful in make-up. :)
As for coffee... well, I'm just incredibly addicted so I figured I'd incorporate that somehow. I hope you'll keep reading as I post my life away, and share with you my own opinions that can help you as all of the other blogs & vlogs have helped me.

Enjoy!
